Ever puzzled by the long list of names given to different coffee drinks. Let us help you out with such terms as frappuccino, frappe, express, and others.
Frappuccino is the trademarked name of a Starbucks drink. They bought it, when they bought the company that coined it. ‘Nuff said. Frappe - a frozen/blended (not iced) coffee-flavored drink
Espresso - coffee brewed by forcing steam or hot water, nder pressure, through finely rounded beans. Usually very trong taste, and a much higher caffeine content than regular brew.
Cappuccino - espresso, with a touch of hot milk and steamed-milk foam
Caffè - literally, the Italian word for “coffee.” Commonly associated with espresso.
Latte - literally, the Italian word for “milk.” Americanized, it is short for “caffè latte”, which means “coffee and milk.” Add “latte” to your favorite coffee or tea drink (Chai, vanilla, mocha, etc.) and it just means ‘with’ milk.
Americano - espresso added to hot water. Gives a similar strength, but different flavor than regular drip coffee. Red Eye - cup of regular coffee with a shot of espresso
Third Eye - a Chai (latte) with a shot of espresso
Breve - commonly short for “caffè breve”, which is coffee (espresso) with half-and-half. If you order a drink “breve”, you’ll get half-and-half instead of milk
Wagon - what Lisar calls a shopping cart! (hehehe)
